The Art of Alejandro Jodorowsky
Alejandro Jodorowsky is a legendary film maker, playwright, actor, mime, comic book writer and psychotherapist. His work is powerful, provocative and often controversial. It transcends the conventional, taking the audience to unfathomed depths, touching subjects most would never dare address.
His classic films El Topo, The Holy Mountain, and most recently The Dance of Reaility, have a huge cult following. He has been a great inspiration to many generations of artists directly influencing the likes of Marilyn Manson, David Lynch, Kanye West, John Lennon, Erika Badu, Dennis Hooper & Kasabian.
Curated by James Elphick, The Art of Alejandro Jodorowsky is a tribute and a celebration, exploring the 'Jodoverse' across multiple art forms - a vast universe of evolving stories created by Alejandro in graphic novels and comics spanning the past 50 years. Elphick has spent several years researching his vast back catalogue of graphic novels, tracking down original artworks, artists, collaborators, and collectors, and talking to Jodorowsky himself, to make this exhibition happen. Alongside will be an exciting extensive events programme of talks, film screenings and live events.
