Kling Klang ( Rock Action Records )
Kling Klang are a five piece kraut-punk band from Liverpool, consisting of four synth players and a drummer. Formed in mid 1999, as a 3 piece using only cheap synths and old drum machines, they released Untitled@33rpm on the Liverpool e.p. ("…waste of plastic…" – NME)and the Vander 7" – both of which were enthusiastically received inthe UK and abroad. Since then they have used every show and release as away to explore new dynamic ways of presenting their unique sound.
In 2001 Kling Klang became a 5-piece outfit and released their 7" Nexus/Apex which embraced drone, repetition and melody. This record was championed by Radio 1 DJ John Peel, who made it one of his singles of themonth. Following the excitement of this release and their increasinglyexhilarating live performances they were invited by bands such as Mogwai,Stereolab, Clinic and Trans Am to support them regularly sending theirpartisan crowds away talking about them as much as the main act.
In June 2002 Kling Klang and respected German performance artist Mister Bpresented the ambitious Esthetik Of Destruction. A stunning sound performance situated in a Liverpool warehouse involving 14 televisions converted to transform sound into incredible optical effects.
Kling Klang's The Superposition EP was released on Rock Action Records in2002. After an extended period of absence they have recently picked uptheir battered keyboards and are embarking on a series of eagerly-awaited live dates. This will be their only Londonappearance. Their new Album " The Esthetik of Destruction" isreleased by Mogwai's Rock Action Records on November 6th 2006.

"Steeple removE's nervous electro-rock, somewhere between Clinic and Alan Vega –less brutal though, an act to be watched very carefully if England doesn't steal it from us."

The Kosmische Club
It was Julian Cope's idea. "Someone should start a Krautrock club"he said. So we did. After a launch party with Timothy Leary's bestmate and original Cosmic Joker Brian Barritt, the Kosmische Clubquickly established itself as a place to hear some of the most forward-thinking, truly independent and downright amazing music ever made. Cherished by the open-minded, loved by the chronically energetic, and only occasionally visited by old men with beards, the Kosmische club's remit slowly began to include the best danceable, experimental music, non-chin-strokey electronica, and classic underground tracks.
" Simultaneously kinetic and cinematic, Krautrock is one of thegolden phases in a continuum that runs through rock history: thetextured groove-scape. Listeners are turning to Krautrock, not as a nostalgia-inducing memento of some wilder, more daring age they never lived through, but as a treasure trove of hints and clues as to what canbe done right here, right now. Krautrock isn't history, but a livingtestament that there's still so far to go."

Corsica Studios
In 2002, after having developed several spaces in North London, the artistic duo Amanda Moss and Adrian Jones relocated Corsica Studios to the Elephant and Castle with a concept for creating a new type of space in which to experience art, music, performance and film. Four years latertheir idea has become a reality and they have transformed two derelictrailway arches into a new and alternative independent arts venue. Thishas been achieved through a combination of hosting extremely successfulundergound events, some of which have already established legendaryreputations, and curating weird and wonderful nights that satisfy theirown artistic demands. By creating a fine balance in the programme betweenboth artistic and commercial activity Corsica Studios' mission is tocreate a sustainable and realistic arts strategy. With the Elephant andCastle undergoing a major re-development, Corsica Studios is now firmlypart of the area's cultural renaissance. At long last there's a goodreason to enter the Elephant.
After 5 years of hosting their own events ( Enter the Dragon Ladies, Shadowfist, Cabaret Sauvignon, The Night Gallery, An Electric Storm ) invite-only private warehouse parties (including the notorious LOWLIFE and AT NIGHT.... events), covert art happenings by collectives such as WOWOW!, Signs of Life and Guerilla Zoo, club nights by Haywire, Adaadat Records and Kosmische and gigs by Lydia Lunch, Circle and Sunburned Handof The Man amongst others, Corsica Studios has finally emerged from theunderground into its new life as a unique and independent arts venue.
