Fatima
Spar und die Freedom Fries
The hottest import and export
product ´ coming from the austrian world music scene: fatima spar &
the freedom fries , without any doubt, is live up to their reputation.
Live on stage and on their current album ´zirzop´, with an intensity,
a dynamism and an enthusiasm, that´exhilerates, that swishes and swooshes
and hisses and rattles. The bands name was derived from a questionable
fait divers in recent history when US public opinion-makers decided
to change the name French Fries into ´freedom fries´.
Anyone remember why?
Fatima Spar & the Freedom
Fries have already built up quite a live reputation, driving the crowds
mad, in clubs and on festivals throughout europe and beyond. They are
living proof that entertainment can be both popular and musically substantial.
To witness one of their concerts is in more than one way thrilling.;
this melting pot of influences, languages, rhythms.... the impressive
craftmanschip of the band members and their playfulness on stage.
The past year Fatima Spar &
the Freedom Fries performed live in more than 15 countries, playing
concerts from Tunis to New York and from Helsinki to Istanbul.
Guerrilla Zoo will be recording
the band for a live session to be aired on Resonance 104.4 FM

Peyoti for
President (Sordid
Soup Records)
Peyoti is a self styled
anti-hero. We welcome them back once again to the ensuing madness.
Peyoti is high octane guitar slinger opposing musical lethargy and conformity.
His hybrid style of contemporary world fusion is a combination of Hispanic,
Brazilian, Arabic and Caribbean influence pinned together by a more
western sensibility. With a voice sun drenched in debauched passion
he is an inspired and gifted guitarist who attempts to seduce his audience
with melody and serenity interjected with explosive bursts of punky
mayhem. Playing with some of the most innovative and diverse world musicians,
'Peyoti for President' is truly unique. A gig unparalleled, a universe
of unexplored territory - an atom about to be split wide open. Vote
Peyoti!
