The Playground | Modern Panic
Bringing together some of the leading lights in avant-garde performance, art and whatever you can classify taxidermy as, is an event aptly named. Modern Panic, is an annual exhibition celebrating the macabre icons in the art world, and now in its third edition will certainly cause panic, quickened pulses, and raised temperatures with its often gruelling subject matter.
Not one for the faint-hearted, themes of physical torture and body 'art' will be on the cards (let's just say last year it was set in The Old Abbatoir to give you an idea) but with names as big as Franko B, Charles Bronson and Charlie Tuesday Gates ruling the roost it's well worth skipping dinner to make room for this number.
It's all part and parcel of the wonderfully weird world of organizers Guerilla Zoo and in total boasts over 50 international artists, practitioners, performers and more. Whilst details are still few and far between, if previous years are anything to go by, we have a funny feeling this will be the talk of the town this month...
